AAAGGGHHH

AAAGGGHHH!!! $20 - Extremely fun piece to play.  Both your audience and kids will have a blast.  There are lots of sound effects and I invite you to make them your own. There are the suggested techniques but let the kids have fun. None of the parts are above a 1st-year player as far as range. The trumpet and clarinet parts are split but are unison 95% of the time.

Good King Wenceslas and boy walking in snow

Good King Wenceslas - works as a great, quick opener for your Christmas Concert.  It is less than 2 minutes and very playable by 2nd-year musicians. The style is a fanfare more than a traditional holiday arrangement and lets your audience know this concert has started!. Though some parts are split, they are due to range and still play in rhythmic unison.

Toy soldiers marching in Christmas parade

JINGLE BELL MARCH - is a fun march for all types of young bands.  At the same time, an older group could have a lot of fun bringing out many of the “hidden” parts and is easy to work up for that annual Christmas parade!

Though the main theme uses a march style of Jingle Bells, there are many other melodies used as counter melodies.  Be sure and bring out each of these on the repeats of each strain.

Snow in the city

Let It Snow! - Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!, also known as Let It Snow, is a song written by lyricist Sammy Cahn and composer Jule Styne in July 1945. It was written in Hollywood, California, during a heat wave as Cahn and Styne imagined cooler conditions. This is playable for 2nd-year players and has split parts to provide easier ranges for younger players and add more harmonic texture. The Drum Set part can be split into separate parts for a more traditional concert setting if desired.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer  - Gene Autry, the Singing Cowboy, made this song by Johnny Marks famous.

This arrangement has a fun swing style to it. Harmonization is slightly more advanced from a Grade I tune, but the rhythms and ranges are very approachable for young musicians. The style lets them experience a standard swing feel. The percussion is written for a drum set but can be separated as a traditional percussion part. Sleighbells can have as many players as you want. I often had children come from the audience and give them little toy sleigh bells to play. This was always a big hit.

The Addams Family Theme Song - The Addams Family theme song was written and composed by Vic Mizzy in 1964 for the television show "The Addams Family," which aired from 1964 to 1966. Mizzy created the iconic "finger-snapping" rhythm of the song, which became a distinctive feature of the show. The theme song's lyrics describe the quirky and macabre Addams family members and their unconventional lifestyle. The Addams Family theme song became a cultural phenomenon,
and its popularity led to numerous cover versions and adaptations in various media.
The sound effects in the Percussion 2 part are suggestions. Feel free to add your own flavor. Let the kids be creative.

Man and boy walking in snow. Good King Wenceslas

Fantasy On A Good King - This is an extended version of my arrangement of Good King Wenceslas above. It would be rated at 2.5 with multiple divided parts in most sections with a duration of almost 3 minutes. As GKW, it is a driving fanfare and not a traditional Christmas arrangement. It also has variations on the melody with multiple time signatures in one section. Your audience and band will really enjoy the excitement of this piece. Published by TUX PEOPLE'S MUSIC

Snowflake - Lot's of Christmas

LOT'S OF CHRISTMAS - is exactly what it says. There are about 20 songs spread throughout, over, under, simultaneously, and in many other ways throughout the piece. The audience will have fun keeping track of all of the songs. Playing levels are well within a 2nd-year player, but all of the rests, counting, changes, etc. give it the harder level. Once they have the individual parts down, it's very easy to put them together.

Spooky pic.png

March of the Spooky Things - March of the Spooky Things uses the theme from Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg in his Peer Gynt Suite. This is a great piece for the fall or spring concert. All the wind ranges are within the range of a 2nd-year or 1st-year 2nd semester year player. There are lots of spooky moments and everyone gets the melody, including a percussion feature. Available by PDF on this website or printed music at the links below at an extra cost.
