March of the Morose Camels - Why morose? Wouldn’t you be? Camels is a Grade 1 march written for young bands and portrays the image of camels marching through the desert under a hot sun. It starts far away. As they get closer and closer, the caravan gets louder and louder. Those that have been around camels know how loud they can get!

All wind parts are easily within a Grade 1 and playable by 1st-year players. Percussion is much busier (8 players) than some Grade I but it is easily playable. The timpani uses 3 pitches and there are no pitch changes.

Dark Background

Marching In The Dark - is not your standard young band march. It introduces modal melodies and harmonies but is easily playable and enjoyable. All sections get to shine In The Dark. Wind parts are playable by 1st-year players. Ranges are generally within the first 6 notes. Upper WW is mostly in unison with an occasional 2nd Clarinet split. Lower WW/Brass is mostly in unison as well. Trombones occasionally separate for harmonic depth and easier positions. The Trumpet split is like the Clarinet in that it is rare and used for harmonic support and lower range for the youngest players.
Percussion parts are more “advanced”, but still easily performed using fewer players and simplified parts provided.

Moving On - This is a fun and well-written march with 1st-year players in mind. It could be a level 1/2 if not for the length and percussion parts. All wind parts are easily approachable by 1st-year players. Ranges are generally within the first 6 notes. Upper WW are mostly unison with an occasional 2nd Clarinet split. Lower WW/Brass are rhythmically unison with trombone occasionally split for harmonic depth. The Trumpet split is like the Clarinet in that it is rare and used for harmonic support and lower range for the youngest players.
Percussion parts are somewhat more “advanced” than the wind parts. It can still be performed using fewer players and simplified parts are provided. There is a Simplified Snare Drum part that removes the 16th note patterns from the Adv. Snare.

NATIONAL PASTTIME MARCH - Playing with the melody from "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" your band will feel like they're at the "old ballgame". They'll get to hit the ball, call the batter out, and bring the feel of the game to your audience. Most of the parts would be a Gr 1 but with several chromatic runs, I place it at a Gr. 2

Three oranges - The Love For Three Oranges concert band by Kyle McKinzey KyleMac Music

THE LOVE FOR 3 ORANGES - (Gr. 3) One of the strangest titles and I'm not going to tell you I know what it means! This is the march from Sergei Prokofiev's opera of the same name. Very quirky melodies and harmonies. It's listed as a grade 3 due to the short length. The ranges and rhythms are very playable for most groups. It's the intervals, harmonies, and tunings that make it more difficult for younger groups to play.
